In Brief:
Ripple minted 14 million RLUSD on Ethereum, pushing the stablecoin’s supply to nearly $470 million.
Despite a 260% volume spike earlier, RLUSD saw a sharp 59% drop in daily trading activity.

Ripple has minted 14 million RLUSD tokens as part of its ongoing effort to expand its U.S. dollar stablecoin, according to on-chain data from the RLUSD Treasury on Ethereum. The minting occurred on July 2, bringing RLUSD’s total supply to approximately $469.22 million.

The move highlights Ripple’s strategic push to increase the stablecoin’s availability globally, especially following regulatory approval in Dubai, allowing RLUSD’s legal use in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).

However, market data shows trading volume has dropped 59.51%, despite a temporary spike of over 260% the previous day. Analysts attribute the volatility to broader crypto market conditions, though RLUSD’s market cap still rose 3.09% over the past 24 hours.

Launched in late 2024, RLUSD has become central to Ripple’s expanding ecosystem, which includes cross-border payments and real-world asset tokenization. The stablecoin’s adoption has grown particularly among enterprise users seeking regulated alternatives for on-chain finance.

Ripple's ongoing legal clarity following its SEC settlement has further supported the stablecoin’s rise, with more minting events expected in the coming weeks as RLUSD targets half a billion in total supply.
